Make the Most of Every Day

by ~ShiningSoulYoga~

Hearing about the devastating injury and subsequent passing of champion freestyle skier Sarah Burke has left me, along with countless people around the world, wondering how something so horrible can happen so suddenly and tragically to someone with so much potential and life in front of them. Maybe it is because she was the exact same age as I am, and my husband and I are both avid snowboarders, but her story really struck close to home. While it is unimaginable to think of what her husband, family and friends are going through at this time, the biggest lesson I am trying to take away from this is to live life to its fullest potential every single day.

Cash $ense

by ~ShiningSoulYoga~

When did all of this happen? Its like one minute I was getting my $5.00 weekly allowance from my parents to spend on stuffed animals and gummi bears, and now all of a sudden I’m standing here with a mortgage, car payment, and the joint responsibility of keeping myself, my husband, and our dogs alive, well fed, and happy. I think this is a realization that hits a lot of 20-somethings like a ton of bricks… once the college and post college celebrations have gotten out of our bones (at least during work nights – who says you can’t still hang on the weekend) there is a lot of financial responsibility to face, which can come naturally to some, and quite awkwardly to (most) others.
