I am never one to turn down a hot plate of good pasta. While pasta dishes can be high in calories, if you make it at home, you can control what goes into the dish and make sure you and your family (or whomever you may be inviting over for dinner) has a well-rounded meal made of high quality ingredients. When you eat pasta at restaurants, they generally add a ton of salt and oil to make the flavor most enjoyable for diners. This can bring the calorie count of a single dish up to 1,000 + calories, way too much for a single meal, and many times these dishes may have higher sodium than is recommended to eat in an entire day.
