San Fransisco Airport Opens Yoga Room

by ~ShiningSoulYoga~

This is so cool! San Fransisco Airport has opened up a yoga room for tired and stressed passengers, or just those looking for a little zen. The room is constructed with inspiration from Japanese gardens, and allows people to sit in silence or practice yoga on their own. Mats are provided, but people are welcome to bring their own.

If you are anything like me, I am always looking for a place to unwind while hanging out at the airport, and would love a space to drop into downward-facing dog without getting weird looks from fellow passengers. What do you think about this idea? Would you like to see a yoga room in your local airport? For more information, here is the official press release from SF.

  1. I don’t travel as much as my husband, so not in airports much. But if I ever had the opportunity to travel with him and a yoga room is available and would take advantage of it. You can only walk through a terminal for so long to keep from being static!

  2. Brilliant idea! would be ideal for long lay-overs. Lets hope it catches on around the world!

  3. This is so big…..I started my son in Yoga back in the 90′s and i myself began after the birth of my 3rd child. After a few weeks, well actually after the first class I was changed and wondered where yoga had been all of my life. I’m glad to hear about this new yoga center. More yoga less stress, great for an airport!!!!! I will share this post.

  4. This is so cool!– My words exactly when i saw the headline! Not sure how many would stick out the lotus pose though : )
